‘Deadlocked’ by Charlaine Harris: F (45%) – Aggregate Book Review

Though really kind of a bunch of short stories within short stories, this book, “4 ½” in the “Dark Tower” series, satisfies. Not groundbreaking or anything, just good, apparently really good.

After an 11-year wait, this book does not dissappoint. Some critics mentioned that the narrative was a bit slow in the middle and the hundreds of characters were difficult to keep up with, but the vast majority said that it was an extremely entertaining read and the product of a genius storyteller.

Some reviewers had a bit of a problem with the deus ex machina ending and the heavy-handedness of his themes of prejudice, but others called it his crowning achievement – a wonderful story among the best in his discworld series. The latter won out.
