A well-written interpretation of the deep south leading up to hurricane katrina and a deserving winner of the National Book Award, though some critics remarked that it was a little overwritten and a bit heavy-handed when it comes to the mythology metaphor.

‘The Sense of an Ending’ by Julian Barnes

Above Average: 76%

The author is a little heavy-handed with some of his ideas, and the protagonist can be frustrating, but those are minor issues when compared to the excellent writing and the deft way the book plays with the concept of memory.
