An action-packed YA novel that adults will enjoy. A retelling of ‘Les Miserables’, but a good one that stands on it’s own despite some cliches.

An excellent debut novel about a failing American newspaper in Rome, ‘The Imperfectionists’ is at some points slightly disjointed and sentimental, but the genuine, well-written story and characterizations win out. It’s a Prosenotes Pick!

If you like previous Nicholas Sparks novels, you’ll probably like this one. It is reportedly a tear-jearker, despite the fact that most said you can predict how it ends about 20 pages in.

A powerful non-fiction narrative about an American diplomat in Hitler’s Berlin, this book struggles with making it’s protagonists sympathetic, but is ultimately a very compelling and interesting read.
Not Recommended: 38%
What could be seen as a brave attempt to understand 9/11 comes off instead as a confusing and glib work. The child narrator doesn’t fit with the recent tragedy, and quirky tone is inappropriate at best.
